NUTRITION
YOUR EATING HABITS CAN CAUSE HEART DISEASE -
Heart disease
is the
No.1 cause of death in this country. You can lower your chances
of getting heart disease
by choosing your foods carefully.
PEOPLE SHOULD EAT :
1. Less
fat - Fats are usually found in foods from animals, such as meat,
milk, cheese, and butter. They also are found in foods with palm and
coconut oils. Eat less of these foods. Say no to any foods that are fried.
You can broil or bake chicken and fish.
Make sure you remove any skin after they are cooked. The skins are full of fat.
a. Good fats - Add foods to your diet that are high in monounsaturated
fats, such as olive oil, canola oil, and seafood. Safflower oil and corn
oil are high in polyunsaturated fats.
2. Cutting down on sodium - You noticed I mentioned cutting down
and not
cutting out salt altogether. I believe you need a certain amount in your
diet for your
electrolytes. The salt I use is SEA SALT. I believe my body tolerates
it better and it
doesn't stay in my body that long. This doesn't mean eat all the salt you
want. Too
much of anything can do your body harm. (even to much water) If not sure,
talk to your
doctor. Always choose a diet moderate in salt and sodium.
3.
Watch your weight by eating fewer calories - When we
eat fewer calories
than we need,
we lose weight. Regular exercise–such as walking,
swimming, or gardening–can help you keep your weight and cholesterol down.
4. Increase your fiber intake - Eat plenty of grain products,
fruits, and vegetables.
Don't eat white products like bread, rice, spaghetti, and cereal.
Now they all come in
whole wheat and multigrain. You can also buy dark rice. You
not only get great fiber
but the nutritional value is greater.

BEFORE ACTING UPON AN IDEA THAT CONCERNS YOUR
HEALTH, MONEY, OR ANY OTHER MAJOR DECISION IN YOUR LIFE,
IT IS A SMART IDEA TO GET TOGETHER WITH YOUR DOCTOR,
FINANCIAL ADVISOR, LAWYER OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL THAT
CAN HELP YOU MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION.
SOMETIMES A SECOND OPINION IS ADVISABLE. BEFORE
MAKING A DECISION ON AN IDEA, GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME
TO THINK ABOUT IT. IN THE LONG RUN YOUR DECISION IS THE
FINAL ONE. MAKE SURE YOU WEIGH THE PRO'S AND CON'S OF THE
IDEA.
